Too often we approach the (starting) teacher and pupils from a deficit point of view. 'What is wrong and what must be corrected' are questions that pop up first. Instead, Korthagen and others(such as Seligman) suggest an approach based on character strengths. 'What are the individual qualities from a teacher' then is the staring point for growth. In this exercise you practice the
identification of character strengths together with your team (of mentors). Once trained on identifying character strengths, you will be able to easily identify them with NQT's.
