Korthagen developed an ‘onion’ model in which he combines a number of comparable models such as the work of Offman or Csikszentmihalyi. In the onion model lifting is key. Lifting means deliberately change the focus from thinking to other dimensions: feeling and wanting. The coachee often is stuck in ‘thiniing’. Lifting connects to the emotional dimension.
